There is one thing about straps that make them a lot different that rope. They can be quickly applied and removed. Rope is not that way. Unless I'm tying someone in a very classic elbows, wrists, knees and ankles tie (similar to this strap tie), there is a lot of thinking going on while I'm tying. Rope just takes longer generally. But because they are so fast on and off, they can be applied a lot tighter than I would ever tie rope on someone. That is why some of the honestly "tightest" bondages that you'll have seen from me are strap ties.
